Uranus in Gemini: Innovate Your Own Mind
In what is already a banner year for massive change in astrology in 2025 (and I mean massive like we’ve not seen in our lifetime) the month of July and Uranus moving into Gemini is the icing on the cake, or more like a firecracker on top of everything else that is unleashing new beginnings for all of us, collectively and individually.
The Big Picture Astrology for 2025
I think the bigger picture for this change is the fact that we have the Saturn–Neptune conjunction that’s happening at 0° Aries in February 2026. That’s when it will be exact anyway . We’re talking about planets there that move very slowly, so they’re already relatively quite close in the sky, especially during July, but it will take time for them to reach this point of exactitude.
0° of Aries is the beginning of the zodiac, the activation point. Saturn and Neptune together are about dissolving and creating. Aries is about who we are as individuals and people, and as pioneers. So for a lot of us, this is going to be a dissolving of old ways and stepping into the new.
This whole summer of 2025 is basically a dress rehearsal for this, or a practice run, whatever you want to call it. The reason being is that we have a lot of planets moving or stepping into new signs. But the way the planets move, especially the outer planets, is they go forward a little bit in Earth’s perspective and then backwards a little bit. So over the summer months especially, we have a taste of all of these planets being in their new signs.
So that’s Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Then we also have Jupiter just moving into Cancer, where it will now stay, but it’s our first taste of it. And then at the end of last year, we had Pluto shift into Aquarius, and it’s going to be there for 20 years – another huge, big change.
So with that backstory, now we look to where we are in July, the firecracker or icing on the cake is the planet Uranus, which is the great disruptor, innovator, changemaker, rebel, moving out of the sign of Taurus – which is a fixed Earth sign – and into the mutable Air sign of Gemini. So this is going to be a huge change for all of us. It’s change upon change upon change.
Now if we look at Uranus in Gemini: Uranus is a disruptor, an innovator, expect the unexpected, really big changes. Gemini is a lot about the way we think, the way we process, even our beliefs that we have about ourselves and the world around us. It’s about communication, and we can extend that even into transportation. So expect to see big changes in these areas.
This might speak to changing the way that we all think and communicate, beyond what’s already happening with Chat GPT (or Chat GPT changing the way that we think and communicate as humans). We can already spot what Chat GPT has written a mile off, and I feel like that is changing the way that we speak and structure language because we want to sound more human, less like Chat GPT.
What Beliefs Might Shift About Our Place In the Universe
There could be revolutions in how we think about ourselves, think about subconscious beliefs, and how we might change or reprogram those. I’m also really personally tuning into how we might change our thoughts and beliefs around the universe we live in… what innovations might there be about theories of our universe, and are we living in a simulation, etc. A similar example would be when humans went from a geocentric model to a heliocentric model, or from believing the Earth was flat to knowing it’s round. I feel like we could go through a paradigm shift potentially as big as that.
In fact I just researched this….
when one flat earth to spherical earth theory was created by Eratosthenes’ was in (~240 BCE). This is when he made calculations of the shadows the sun makes to proove his theory.
Using ephemerides: Uranus was in Gemini. (Approx. Uranus in Gemini: 250–243 BCE) There we have it!!
War On Thoughs and Point of View?
Gemini can also be about a polarity of thought, and we’re definitely experiencing that in our society, with people having very, very polarised thoughts from each other. Unfortunately, in the past, this has often led to war. But in astrology, history doesn’t have to repeat itself. Just because in the past when Uranus was in Gemini there were conflicts of interest and different opinions that led to war, it doesn’t mean it has to happen again. Hopefully we can find a different way to overcome this.
The Gemini archetype is known for its curiosity and being able to see the other side. So hopefully we can lean more into that. Hopefully there can be more radical conversations or radical solutions. Uranus is extremely innovative and it can surprise us, so I am hoping and praying for that side of things.
But all in all, I think you can gather from some of these little tidbits of what we can expect that it can be an incredibly exciting and paradigm-shifting transit. We will have a few months of Uranus being in Gemini in 2025, then it will briefly go back into Taurus at the end of the year, and during 2026 come into Gemini for good.
So that, together with Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn and Neptune meeting at the 0° point of Aries, just speaks to so much change, so much innovation, rewriting the scripts of our life.
Inner Technology: Innovate Your Own Mind
Another through-line that’s very strong for me is coming into our inner technology. This is something I speak about a lot. I see Saturn–Neptune as an opportunity to be sovereign and empowered through individual thinking and really listening to our intuition. Jupiter in Cancer is another strong energy that can empower us through nurturing our intuition. Pluto in Aquarius I see as outer technology (I’ve written on that extensively) and then Uranus in Gemini changing the way we think. It could unravel into so many things, but a huge paradigm shift in how we think, and I really feel that could lead a lot into intuition and developing high senses such as telepathy, leaning more into interpersonal neurobiology, and leaning into how we receive and create thoughts in ways that are probably going to be quite surprising and unexpected from where we are right now.
