Jupiter and Venus Conjunct 9th June: Is it really the luckiest day of the year?

On June 9th 2026 Venus and Jupiter meet at 25°46′ Cancer. As astrology has become more popular this seems to be a day that get’s called ‘the luckiest day of the year’ all over social media. For some people it can genuinely feel that way, and for others maybe less so. Astrology is always more complex and nuanced than click bait lines so let’s unpack this.

The Traditional View: Benefic and Malefic Planets:

In traditional Astrology Jupiter and Venus are the two ‘benefic planets’. Benefic meaning to have benefit. Traditionally Venus is very much focused on love, money and sweetness, and Jupiter wisdom, blessings and opportunities. Whereas the ‘malefic planets’ such as Mars was associated with war, and Saturn with some of the harsher realities of life.

Traditional astrology existed in a very different time, one I feel there was a lot less free will. You were born into a class and life with much less opportunity to be self made. Whilst these qualities are very much true, modern astrology takes a more balanced approach for each archetype.

The Modern View: Each Planet As a Spectrum

In modern astrology there is less of a '‘this is good’ and ‘that is bad approach’.

Venus can relate to not only love, beauty and money, but also our values, our self worth. In all of these things we can have a spectrum - low self worth, not living by our values etc. However with modern astrology the view is that if we ever feel we’re expressing or experiencing a lower expression of a sign - the higher expression is always available somehow and someway through inner work and our transits over time.

Jupiter relates to our beliefs, our wisdom, destiny, intuition, spiritual beliefs and faith. It’s often connected with opportunities and blessings and to ‘expand’ whatever it comes into contact with. That last part I just wrote is important, as whilst we do think of Jupiter as a benefic (and it is!) the things it expands might not always feel easy at the time (even if it’s a blessing in disguise). So most astrologers use an 80/20 rule with Jupiter. Most of the time it’s expanding something in a pleasurable way, and the other time it’s expanding something we need to be aware of or see (blessing in disguise).

The Conjunction On 9th June?

When these two planets come together, as they will on June 9th 2026 - is it the luckiest day of the year?

It can be as all the themes around love, money, and beauty might feel expanded by Jupiters blessings and opportunity.

But Jupiter can also expand where we feel low self worth or have money issues - this might be a ‘blessing in disguise’ so we can get out of those habits!! Or it could expand where a relationship is no longer serving you.

We then need to see:

  1. where it is your chart? do you have other planets at 25 Cancer?

  2. What house is it for you?

  3. Does it make aspects to other parts of you chart

  4. What else is Jupiter Venus aspecting in the sky.

Jupiter Venus in Cancer: Jupiter is exalted (or happiest) in Cancer. So this is a blessing of it’s own. Cancer being the sign about nurturing, a lot of people have seen deep self care could be the way to best be option to Jupiters blessings here. So Jupiter and Venus here is lush - especially if you have planets conjunct or in trine - dreamy. However the 80/20 still applies - but be prepared to seeing blessings in disguise as still blessings.

Chiron is at 29 Aries, so this means it will be squaring Jupiter Venus. So there could be themes of deep wounding coming to the surface - maybe around feeling good enough that “yes you can have this”. I often describes Jupiters luck as being able to follow your intuition to be in the right place at the right time. So you still need to pay attention and be open to what’s in front of you.
