Cultural Astrology Trends for 2026

I’ve been reflecting on how astrology is evolving and how it’s slowly but surely becoming a part of the cultural (dare I say mainstream) fabric of life, after being relegated as ‘woo woo’ for a few hundred years. I mean Astrology is thousands of years old, it’s a language unto itself, and it’s always created meaning and bridged between the mystical spiritual realm and our day to day lives on earth.

What I’m seeing now is that astrology is filtering more deeply into our culture again. We’re seeing it spoken about on news programs, mentioned more heavily in media, but perhaps most importantly people are seeing that for many astrology is becoming a mirror of what we’re collectively sensing, craving, and waking up to. As we step into 2026, the cultural astrology trends I’m feeling are more about more about the bigger picture hero’s journeys - we’ve been through tough and uncertain times, but larger scale stories ebb and flow and often when things feel harder a break through happens. In many ways looking to astrology allows us to see these large themes and create meaning, hope and faith that ‘this too shall pass’ when things feel uncertain or even hopeless. After all astrology IS a study of cycles and patterns through archetypal themes. It’s not history repeating, but we can see the last time planets were in a sign or placement and feel a theme strongly. For example Pluto in Aquarius Pluto in Aquarius is related to revolution and power to the people…

The beautiful and amazing thing about astrology is that as well as being a tool for the collective, within that we each have our own hero’s story, and what I like to call our, personal prophecy. Astrology has always been a language for self-reflection, and right now it’s becoming an anchor for people who want to understand themselves more deeply.

This year brings a continued shift toward psychological astrology, inner healing, and the desire to live with more intention.

Astrology as a Cultural Touchpoint in Uncertain Times

There is a reason why astrology is becoming mainstream again, and it is not about trends or novelty. It is because people are craving language for the inner shifts they are already feeling, and astrology offers a symbolic mirror that modern culture has been missing. One of the strongest astrology trends moving into 2026 is the return to a more archetypal understanding, rather than a one dimensional definitive approach. We’re moving away from astrology being fortune telling but rather larger themes which has distinct potential related to archetypes. There’s a big difference of predicting upcoming themes and possibilities vs saying defintively what will happen. When the world feels unpredictable, we naturally look for frameworks that help us create coherence. Pluto in Aquarius that I shared above is just one example amongst a whole multilayered astrological setting.

With organised religion feeling less of cultural definer than say 50 years ago, people are looking for where they can place faith, hope and that there are larger forces at play in the Universe than just ourselves.

Having said this, it goes deeper than our overall story as a cultural collective, but how people see themselves within that collective.

We’ve become quite isolated and dis-connected from cultural spirituality and meaning in the West, but also from each other. In general people stare at screens a whole lot more, and engage with each other in deep ways a whole lot less.

But Astrology is quietly changing that. It now sits alongside somatic healing, mindfulness, and psychological frameworks that help us understand our deeper motivations.

Across wellness, fashion, creative direction, and even hospitality, astrology is becoming a subtle but meaningful way to connect with stories of identity and soul. What I’m seeing more of this year is a shift from “What’s my sign?” to “What does this symbol teach me about who I am becoming?”

The Rise of Personal Myth-Making

One of the most beautiful cultural astrology trends this year is the return of personal myth-making. More than being the main character in your own life, it’s about your story arc, your destiny, what’s meant for you. Astrology straddles free will and fate. Somethings we choose, other things come into our life without choice. It gives a different feel to your life story, knowing that you are NOT the author completely on your own. Yes we need to do our inner work and make good decisions, but there’s MORE to that, and this is what makes life feel magical and meaningful.

Astrology is looking at not only our birth placements but also looking at transits - what themes and opportunities are coming up in your own personal story.
Who am I in this moment?
What is this experience inviting me toward?
What is the deeper story unfolding?

I see Jupiter transits as clues for our own ‘prophecy’ and archetypes like the Saturn return, the mid life transits, or the Chiron wound are helping people name internal tensions as part of the human journey and maturation, rather than feeling like their life is falling apart. And there’s something profoundly compassionate about that in a way that radically changes how we view our lives.

In 2026 I’m hoping that we’re moving away from the meme-ification of astrology and into a deeper, more grounded space where people want to actually understand themselves.

Why Younger Generations Are Returning to Archetypes

A significant trend within modern astrology culture is the way younger generations are turning to archetypal frameworks as a form of psychological grounding. Gen Z and younger millennials are approaching astrology not as entertainment, but as a language that helps them understand the deeper layers of who they are. There’s a big trend of turning to astrology for identity and self-understanding. It becomes a way of exploring identity formation, healing unresolved emotional patterns, reconnecting with intuition, and making sense of the inner worlds they were never taught to navigate.

We’re seeing younger generations view astrology as a therapeutic tool ( I mean it’s been that way since Jung if not earlier! but it’s safe to say it’s having a massive revival as astrology itself becomes more mainstreamly accepted). Astrology gives people a way to articulate emotions and internal experiences they had no words for in childhood OR things that have been out of conscious awareness. Instead of dismissing astrology as something frivolous, younger generations are using it as a tool for clarity, self-awareness and belonging. That hunger for depth, meaning and emotional vocabulary is only growing as we move through 2026. I’m seeing a huge increase in younger people seeking astrology based mentoring and wrote an article on the rise of Astrology based Therapy and Trauma-informed Astrology HERE.

Planetary Cycles Reflecting Collective Themes

Without making predictions, the planetary movements of 2026 are reflecting themes that many of us can already feel rising within the collective field. There is a deeper yearning for authenticity, truth, and a more intimate relationship with our inner guidance. Transits involving outer planets like Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune all changing signs at once and a rare Uranus Trine Pluto aspect often correspond with psychological and spiritual shifts. Think back to Uranus and Pluto conjunct in the mid 60’s and the amount of cultural change. Also Neptune Uranus in the mid 90’s with the internet, rave culture and revival of spiritually change the collective.

These planetary shifts often echo a desire for change. We can already see that people are becoming increasingly discerning about their spiritual practices, gravitating toward approaches that feel grounded, nourishing and real, rather than sensational or escapist. The astrology of this period mirrors that shift beautifully - I wrote a blog article of this shift HERE.

Astrology in Wellness, Creativity & Luxury Spaces

One of the most fascinating cultural astrology trends emerging this year is the way astrology is showing up in spaces far beyond what used to be considered “spiritual.” Luxury brands are using astrological symbolism to deepen product storytelling and create more meaningful activations. Hotels are creating subtle “astro experiences” that help guests feel more connected to themselves during their stay. Even jewellery, beauty and fashion houses are exploring zodiac-inspired design in ways that honour both craft and personal symbolism. Creative directors across industries are using astrology as a conceptual framework for mood, colour, narrative and emotional tone.

I’ve seen this first hand from my own collaborations with brands such as Chanel, Pragnell, Surrenne, Six Senses and Casamigos. Astrology had the capacity to immediately create depth and meaning and bring a certain intimacy and connection to spaces that otherwise could feel either flat or sterile. It brings meaningful conversation into the space, transforming an event from something beautiful into something genuinely memorable.

What These Trends Reveal About Us in 2026

I love the direction that these trends seem to be taking us. We’re moving into a time where having faith, hope and meaning and collective mythology or hero’s journey is important.

We’ve been through some really hard years, and many just focus on things getting worse. Life always has ups and downs, even if they happen on a larger timescale that our minds would like. This year I feel we see a turning point with so many outer planets shifting signs that indeed a new chapter is beginning, this is fortified by the Pluto Trine Uranus aspect we’ll see peak over 2026-2028.

But every change starts from within. So it’s about our personal journey, our personal prophecy laid out in our chart and each doing things that makes our lives feel more meaningful, and more connected in all ways.
