2025 Mid Year Astrology Overview and Reflection
This Saturday in the early hours of the morning BST time, the Sun moves from Gemini and into Cancer marking the Summer Solstice.
We celebrate the Solstice over a period of a few days but in Western Astrology, earth based Astrology, the Sun moving from Gemini to Cancer is the exact point.
2025 is a banner year in Astrology ushering in so much change.
Since the Winter Solstice a lot has happened for us collectively and individuality; externally and internally.
This point of the highest Sun in the Northern Hemisphere is a chance to shine line on what has been since then. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere it can feel like a shedding and honouring what no longer serves you - either way the Solstice is a time for sacred pause and reflection and honouring what’s been.
Just before Solstice last year in late November we had Pluto move into Aquarius for the next 20 so years.
We had Mars Retrograde in Leo and Cancer - it’s now just recently moved completely out of those signs into Virgo - giving a fresh new energy to organise and our life and our health.
Saturn and Neptune have both moved into Aries. Like all astrology there’s so much potential for good here, but also shadow. These 2 archetypes together in Aries can speak to stepping into the highest version of your individualtiy led by intuition, dicernment, and self empowerment. The shadow side being personal boundaries lost, an illusion of sense of self, trying to be like someone else, no sensing your personal limits (especially around drug and alcohol but all areas of life) or heightened spiritual ego.
Saturn and Neptune will retrograde back into Pisces before coming into Aries for good and making an EXACT conjunction at 0 Aries (the activation point) and beginning of the Zodiac in 20 February 2026 ushering in big new beginnings collectively and personally - but now these next few months are like a ‘dress rehearsal’ - so what are you experimenting with, what’s the version of you wanting to come out?
Jupiter moved into Cancer 9 June where it will stay for about one year. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, it’s a place it can truly expand and through Cancers nurturing and nourishment we too can expand ourselves. Jupiter is the guru, the one bringing blessings - but the wise lessons and good fortune come from listening to our own intuition - in this way we make our own luck. The more we nurture ourselves and our intuition the more fortune it appears we draw in. It’s important to note Jupiter will be Cazimi the Sun just after Solstice on 24th June, so a day to really tune in with yourself and the direction you’re heading and seeing what opportunities are around you that you want to take or create.
This own period I see so much around listening to ourselves. Saturn and Neptune is also about doing the work to hone our intuition and in Aries is very much personal, empowering, discernment, IN-formation, not blindly following others, but really running things through out inner filter. Jupiter in Cancer is a huge opportunity to create luck by nourishing ourselves and listening to our inner guidance, and in doing so naturally following our destiny and who we are meant to become.
On July 9th Uranus will move signs too. At the time of this Solstice it’s at 29 Taurus, so it will sit at this final degree for the next 2-3 weeks. Taurus is fixed, stable, and Uranus is about change. The final degree, anaeretic degree is often where we feel the energies the strongest. Where are we being stubborn and refusing change, where do we feel stuck and stagnent but unable to get out of our own way. Most humans inherently don’t like change, even when the situation we’re in is not comfortable. Our nervous systems cling on to what is. Until Uranus comes along and shakes and shifts everything up. Often the scary part is not knowing a “fixed” outcome. We have to take a leap, a gamble - that can feel ‘foolish’ and the Fool Card is related to Uranus. However the more we leap and take a step forward based on the positive side of Saturn and Neptune and Jupiter in Cancer = based on intuition rather than the shadow side of listening to others, not knowing ourselves and not listening to our inner guidance then things can feel sticky. Uranus can be erratic and the phrase that’s often used is to be careful to not burn everything down tot he ground or throw the baby out with the bath water, to then regret it all later. So whatever you do, have a longer term perspective in mind. Especially with Mars in Virgo who also wants to rearrange everything. By all means cull and tidy things up but use your discernment if youre being too much like a bull in a china shop (uranus in taurus).
What a year so far.
